Outer Banks

I uploaded the photos from our trip to the Outer Banks at the beginning of this week, but haven't gotten around to posting them till now!

Even though we only spent two days there (Saturday & Sunday), it felt like so much longer. We went to a number of little shops, ate at some fantastic local restaurants, visited a few historic sights, and took a walk along a tiny nature trail that led out to the most perfect beach. We packed in a bunch of things, but yet it was such a relaxing and pleasant vacation at the same time.

Saturday we drove our car onto the ferry, and took the 45 minute boat ride over to Ocracoke Island, and pretty much spent the whole day there (and Sunday as well!). There is one main road through the island, with a few side streets here and there, and because of the smallness of the town, it really makes you feel that you can get to know the place. The scenery was pretty amazing as well, with the sand dunes lining either side of the street, the water surrounding us, and the incredibly blue sky. I had so much fun taking photos. :)

I think funniest moment of the whole trip, though, was when we were climbing one of the lighthouses, and met two people, irrespective of each other, from the two towns we lived in in Massachusetts! What a coincidence!

All around it was just a great trip, and so enjoyable spending time with my family, and seeing a new part of God's amazing creation. :)
