I have to laugh, because even though today it's the winter solstice, it really feels more like the first day of spring for us. It's 73 degrees out and sunny, so I have a feeling there won't be a "white Christmas" around here for the holidays. :)

Tomorrow we're heading to Raleigh to celebrate Dad's birthday; go out to dinner, p'rhaps visit a few museums, go shopping, and then on Saturday we'll begin getting the yummy goodies baked and cooked for Christmas! This year we're sticking around here for the holidays instead of heading up to Massachusetts like we normally do, so it will be more of a quiet Christmas for us, but still nice.


I've been having fun watching this series of BBC documentaries on a Victorian Farm Christmas this past week. Also this one is fantastic as well.
